Iryna bugay, LPC

Iryna works with individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, communication breakdowns, life transitions, anxiety, and stress. She specializes in couples counseling, supporting partners who feel disconnected, stuck in recurring conflict, or unsure how to move forward in healthier, more connected ways.

She also works closely with individuals and couples exploring identity, culture, and family dynamics, particularly those navigating bicultural or immigrant experiences. As a first-generation immigrant, Iryna brings an added layer of understanding to the complexities of balancing multiple cultural expectations, roles, and values.

HOW I WORK

My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I focus on creating a space where all voices feel heard and respected, and where curiosity replaces blame. In sessions, I help clients slow down, identify emotional patterns, and better understand how past experiences influence present relationships.

I draw from attachment-based therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches to support emotional awareness, communication, and meaningful change. Whether working with individuals or couples, I aim to help clients build insight and practical tools that support healthier, more connected relationships.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

In addition to my clinical work, I bring a background in education and community-based work, which has shaped my understanding of how systems, relationships, and cultural context impact mental health. This perspective allows me to approach therapy with flexibility, cultural responsiveness, and an appreciation for the broader environments that influence our well-being.

I offer therapy in both English and Ukrainian, supporting clients who feel most comfortable expressing themselves in their native language.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT

Clients often describe sessions with me as supportive, grounding, and thoughtful. I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe to explore challenges, build insight, and move toward change at a pace that feels right for you.

If you’re unsure whether we’d be a good fit, we can talk it through — you don’t have to have everything figured out before starting.

THINGS THAT MAKE ME, ME

  • I could spend hours lost in a good book — reading is my favorite way to unwind and explore new perspectives.

  • I love spending time with my puppy, whether we’re out for a walk or just curled up at home together.

  • I believe that small moments of connection and self-compassion can lead to the biggest transformations.

  • Time with my friends and family is my favorite way to unwind and find balance — their support and laughter keep me grounded.
